二年連続の出場となったローズボウル2014。残念ながらミシガン州立大学に敗北を喫しましたが、年始の早朝にも関わらず大勢の卒業生が集まり、交流を深めました。ミシガン州立大の卒業生の方もご家族を連れて参加してくださりました。

Despite the less than optimal time for a football viewing, many alums got together at 7AM on January 2nd to root for the Caridnals, who made it to the Rose Bowl two year in a row and played aginst Michigan State. We unfortunately lost the game, but we shared cookies and ate chocolate and chatted and had fun nontheless.

We will be going to the Rose Bowl two years in a row!

Pac12決勝戦（対アリゾナ州立大）のライブ観戦会に、愛校心あふれるフットボール好きな卒業生が集いました。
見事勝利を収め、二年連続Rose Bowl出場権を勝ち取りました。

2013 Big Game viewing

2013/11/24, 6:00, At Tennoz Central Tower Building (天王洲セントラルタワー)

バークレー大学卒業生の発案で、Big Game観戦会を共同開催しました。日本時間の日曜早朝6時開始という、つらい時間帯でしたが、スタンフォードとバークレーの卒業生がそれぞれ9名ずつ集まりました。大方の予想通り、スタンフォードが大勝を飾り、バークレー大の皆さんも荒れることなく、大いに盛り上がりました。観戦会のあと二次会ブランチへと流れ、両校の卒業生にとって楽しい交流の場となりました。

We co-hosted a Big Game viewing with the Berkeley alums this year.  Despite the unfortunate kickoff time of 6AM on a Sunday, Japan time, 9 alums from Berkeley and 9 alums from Stanford showed up. Stanford beat Cal in a landslide victory, and Berkeley alums were a good sport throughout the viewing, and everyone had a great time.  Afterwards, some people went out to brunch together, which ended up being a nice, cozy mixer for the two colleges.

演題：福島原子力事故～スタンフォードGSB出身・東電原子力エンジニアの視点

立岩氏は東京電力の原子力技術者で、福島原子力事故発生直後から東京の本店にて事故対応に従事していました。

また、事故の拡大を防ぐために命を懸けて対応した発電所員の話や、立岩氏ご自身が事故発生から数週間後に福島第一の現場を訪問して見た過酷な現実に基づき、事故のヒューマンな側面について光を当てるとともに、福島第一の現状と、ワシントン事務所における米国原子力関係者との福島事故対応の活動についても紹介して頂きました。
